Halter Tops, Romance & Ghosts… A Big Easy Get-A-Way

When Kim started Halter Hotties, I had no idea how busy she would become. And when the social book-marketing began I had know idea how busy I would become. In a fit of melancholy, my mind wanders to the days before the house and child. When our duties were 9 to 5 and romantic weekends were the standard not the exception.

So join me on this excursion down Wishful Thinking Avenue, as I create an adventure for you and her.

The leaves are turning golden and the air is getting crisp. Our favorite holiday is quickly approaching. A time when Witches are welcome and Ghouls are cool… Halloween! We love this time of year. Our house becomes a movie set and creative ideas rattle their chains in our brains for the perfect holiday adventure. We've done the big parties and joined the parades at Disneyworld. But there's one place that says 'Halloween' to us that we've never been.

I'm talking New Orleans. What better place than the Big Easy to revel in costumed abandon? No Mardi Gras crowd of drunken frat boys and bead crazed debutantes. Just you, your Honey and a city full of mystery and adventure…

The foundation of a really good vacation is a place to regroup and recoup after a day of seeing the sights and I've got just the place.
Renaissance Pere Marquette
located just two blocks from the French Quarter. This historic 19-story hotel boast's a beautiful rooftop pool for cooling off after a day of exploration. After a dip head downstairs and enjoy southern favorites in the
Mila Restaurant and Bar. Or grab a seat at the Bar Uncommon and listen to some local, live jazz.

I love to spoil my girl and a new outfit is a great start. Here's what I have in mind…

To start she'll need a great top, hmmm. How about a Halter Hotties halter top! Noir Chat is the one I'm thinking. This golden, silk, fully lined halter top with it's iconic black cat would be perfect for a night in the French quarter.

In case there's a chill when the sun goes down she's going to need a good coat. I found this hand-sewn lambskin leather trench from Santos Leather on Etsy. The distressed leather and antique zippers will feel right at home prowling the gas lamp lit boulevards.

from eModa.com. Seems appropriate for the times and matched with these
Easy Black Leather
cuff boots from Ash, she'll be stepping in style.

Even though it's not the season for beads in the Big Easy... A girls still got to have some sparkle, I know my baby would love to have the Moor Ring by Ana Cavalheiro flashing on her finger.

This 14k gold ring with Smokey Quartz and Maderia citrines is sure to attract the spirits as they head toward your light.

There's nothing spooky about this gorgeous
Carla Mancini Tote with Front Tassel
. The red crocodile, Italian leather looks right at home from the bayou to Bourbon Street .

To complete this spooktacular outfit… I found this awesome Black Cat Leather mask from Teonova on Etsy. Hand molded and formed from dyed leather with a protective topcoat, a purrr~fect finish for your Halloween ensemble.

All dressed up and need somewhere to go? I'd like to try the Hostel Restaurant and Ultra Lounge. Located in the French Quarter this hip restaurant has European flair with southern charm wrapped up in a chic modern package.

Then we can finish our evening by slipping the mask back on and letting a theatrical New Orleans tour guide take us on a trip through the most haunted places in the French Quarter!!
